Nigerian midfielder Hope Akpan was on target for second-tier English club Burton Albion who edged Leicester City 2-1 a pre-season friendly on Tuesday.
Super Eagles forward Ahmed Musa starred for Leicester City, while his Nigerian teammate Wilfred Ndidi started from the bench.
Akpan, who joined Burton Albion from Blackburn Rovers in the current transfer window, opened scoring in the 17th minute before Lucas Akins made it 2-0 in the 29th minute.
In the second half, new Leicester signing Harry Maguire reduced the goal deficit to make it 2-1 but Burton Albion held on to claim the win.
Leicester also suffered a 1-0 loss to another Championship side Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday.
The Foxes will host Bundesliga club Borussia Monchengladbach on Friday in their last pre-season friendly.
They will kick off the 2017/2018 Premier League campaign with an away trip to the Emirates Stadium to face Arsenal on August 11.
